Recreation Division

The Town of Weaverville provides a number of recreational opportunities to its citizens and visitors.  In addition, there are a wide range of other recreational opportunities within a very short driving distance of Town. All of these recreational facilities work together to make Weaverville and Western NC a great place to live and a wonderful place to bring your family on vacation.

The Recreation Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance of all Town Park facilities.

The Town has adopted a number of rules and regulations to help keep our parks in good condition and insure that everyone has an enjoyable time.  Please click here for a copy of these rules and regulations.

Lake Louise

The Town owns and maintains Lake Louise as the center piece of its park facilities.  This park features Lake Louise, the Lake Louise Clubhouse, playground facilities, picnic shelters, a walking track, grills, and fishing.

Those who have both a NC fishing license and a permit from the Town of Weaverville may fish in Lake Louise.  Lake Louise is a catch and keep lake so you may keep any fish that you catch.  For more information about obtaining a fishing license, please click here

Main Street Nature Park

The Main Street Nature Park is located behind Town Hall and runs parallel to Main Street.  This facility has a walking trail that does allow dogs on a leash.  This facility is managed by the Main Street Nature Park Steering Committee as a demonstration facility for creating natural habitats for flora and fauna.

Reems Creek Golf Course

Golfing in and around the Blue Ridge Mountains is one of the unforgettable treats of your Weaverville vacation. Some of the most spectacular Western North Carolina golf courses range across mountain peaks that offer exciting tee-offs overlooking lush mountain scenery; others are nestled in gentle valleys, surrounded by rolling hills.

Become a day member of any of several exclusive golf communities or take in the friendly ambience of the renowned Municipal Golf Course in nearby Asheville. You can even enjoy a temporary guest membership at some clubs, so at the end of your golf outing you’ll enjoy relaxing at the 19th hole with new friends.

The nearby Reems Creek Golf Club, less than four miles from downtown Weaverville, is considered one of the finest in WNC. The course is rated four stars by Golf Digest - it was designed by the Oxford, England firm Hawtree and Sons. The views alone in Reems Creek Valley are worth a round on this course.
